WEEK OF JANUARY 31...

In math, we are now in our largest unit, module five.  This unit covers fractions and decimals.  Students will add, subtract, and multiply fractions.  Students will also simplify, compare, and order fractions.  With decimals, students will learn place value, comparing, ordering, and changing a fraction to a decimal.  We completed our unit on geometry.  Students used protractors to measure angles.  We are also finished with module three which covered the area/perimeter formulas, multiplication, and division.  We have finished place value and the measurement conversions unit.  Students should now be fluent with reading, writing, comparing, rounding, and the addition and subtraction algorithm of numbers to the millions place.  Students should also be comfortable with using a reference sheet and converting various measurement units.  In science we are working with energy.  Students are learning about heat, light, electrical, sound, and kinetic/potential energy.

It is important that your child works on Reflex Math and Freckle weekly at home.

Lunch is from 12:05-12:35. Resource days vary week to week and start at 10:35.
