PLAY DAY FUN 2022

WEEK OF MAY 2...

In math, we are now in our largest unit, module five.  This unit covers fractions and decimals.  Students will add, subtract, and multiply fractions.  Students will also simplify, compare, and order fractions.  With decimals, students will learn place value, comparing, ordering, and changing a fraction to a decimal.  We completed our unit on geometry.  Students used protractors to measure angles.  We are also finished with module three which covered the area/perimeter formulas, multiplication, and division.  We have finished place value and the measurement conversions unit.  Students should now be fluent with reading, writing, comparing, rounding, and the addition and subtraction algorithm of numbers to the millions place.  Students should also be comfortable with using a reference sheet and converting various measurement units.  In science we are working with Earth and Space.  Students are learning about Earth’s day/night and seasons.  We will also talk about the phases of the moon.
