WEEK OF MAY 17...
In math, we have completed all the fourth-grade standards. We are now working on fifth grade standards to help with the transition. We finished our unit on fractions and decimals. Students are able to compare, add/subtract with like denominators, multiply, and simplify fractions. Students also learned about decimals including place value, comparing, and changing fractions to decimals. We finished module four which covered geometry. Students learned about lines, shapes and measuring angles using a protractor. We have completed the first two modules as well. They covered place value and all four algorithms of larger numbers. It is important that your child works on i-Ready, Freckle and Penda weekly at home.
In science, we are studying plants. Students will learn about parts of plant, pollination, and germination.
